Partner School
When schools endeavor to make significant changes regarding the level of the content and rigor in their classrooms, the Partner School Program is the next step.
We’ll help: school change is complex, and especially in the area of mathematics
The change process isn’t easy—education holds tight to a narrow vision of teaching and learning. But children need ambitious leaders who will support and engage high-quality math professional development. Teachers and coaches need PD that is ongoing, in-depth, and practice-focused. Our Partner School Program ensures a path forward to build capacity, enthusiasm, and a clear vision.
We will support you over an extended period of time (2 or more years)
We will begin with a series of workshops to help your team build content knowledge and recognize the connections across concepts that build a strong bridge between arithmetic and algebra. Then, we’ll model teach in your classrooms, invite you to study Long-View to see the pedagogy in action, and collaborate on curriculum alignment. We will then progressively focus on a small number of teacher-leaders.
We’ll work closely with select teacher-leaders at your school
Thoughtful, significant revision of your program will be accomplished, in part, by developing a cohort of leaders who are invested in increasing their understanding and their capacity to support colleagues or open their room to visitors. We’ll work side-by-side and together we’ll build capacity to support the culture and practices of strong math communities.
What’s included in the Partner Program?
